KIRKSVILLE, Mo. (KTVO) — During the holiday season, Ameren Missouri voluntarily suspended service disconnections for residential and business customers.
While these services were suspended, the company urged customers who are financially struggling to reach out to Ameren.
“We want you to contact us, look at our website, give us a call, see if we can provide you with energy assistance funds to help you with your electricity bill,” said Ameren Missouri President Marty Lyons.
Throughout the pandemic, Ameren has provided $5 million in energy assistance to support its customers.
Ameren also has worked with a variety of partners that included community action agencies and the United Way.
Ameren has also encouraged struggling customers to apply for all available assistance that they qualify for.
Suspended service disconnections for residential and business customers end on January 5.
